Spent the weekend getting ready for guests and enjoying da Woods, despite the heat. I promised the Crawley women that I'd post pictures of the new view from the front of our home and our kitchen window.
It's taken me a bit longer to gather and prepare the pics; I thought I'd have them up late this weekend. ...ahhhhhhhh, another paver in the proverbial road to hell.
But, here they are: photos of the Japanese Maple that the Crawley women moved the last time they were here:
The recent rains have helped a lot!
In the next couple days we'll post some of the photos that we're considering selling as part of our "cottage industry."
In the meantime, with our cousins here, I'm kind of feeling like I, too, am on vacation. *grins*

Enjoy your vacation!
We have some new additions to The Ranch family this week. Our ducks produced a clutch of ten hatchlings on Saturday. We've lost a couple but Mom Violet is protecting eight fuzzy brown and yellow ducklings in their newly shaded pen. Dad Quacks struts around the yard all day and goes into the pen at night for more protection. I posted pictures on Nancyturtle's Notes, so be sure to stop by for a good dose of cuteness!
I love the tree! It looks great. Thanks for sharing.
Sara
I agree with Sara, the tree looks great. I love the way the sun "spotlights" it in the picture.
*nods* ...it took me all weekend to catch the sun in the correct place. We have one other, from the inside of the house where the tree is framed by the hummingbird feeder, but it needs to be cropped. I'll put that up as soon as I have it.
In the meantime, I'm working on putting up some of Kevin's flower pics so we can decide which to put up for sale.
I bet those ducklings are cute; Mom wondered why we don't have any ducks in da Woods...
Sara, wonderful to see you here. I bet you're hip deep in CFV prep; sounds like it's going to be a great time again this year!
Make nice!
I wonder what it would take to have a website with photos, to be downloaded and printed, such that those of use who wanted to could sell and display what we do.
DP could run it in her spare time, and we could pay a percentage of sales and perhaps an enrollment fee. I bet between us we have some really fine pictures and we know folks who also have them.
Food for thought. S.
