Daylilies More

The above daylilies (an Asian Hybrid) and the ones that follow all grow in our WI garden (back yard of da Green House, where things bloom more than two weeks later than in the front yard).

The following photos are of our Tiger Lilies, the lily that Mom constantly asks if we have. They apparently filled an alley near the house where she grew up and we've been planting them here since they moved here ten years ago.

I'm amazed they are still blooming given that the canopy is filling in so quickly overhead. They're also planted among some blue spruces, which provide what I think is an interesting color and texture background to the vibrant orange blooms.

This last one is dedicated to Oregon Connie, who is celebrating her birthday today!

Let us know if you think any of the photos you've seen here might sell if we put them up on the website. And that goes for any future photos, as well.

Overall, we're well. What's been going on in your lives??

Hey DP and Kevin!

Greetings from CFV from all of us :) We're sitting in a coffee shop downtown Sturgeon Bay and thinking of you!

We're supposed to tell you that Ann, Katie, Mark beat mom and dad one hand at Sheephead.

Everything is going great here at CFV- lots of visits to import stores we know you guys would love and stops at the chocolate chicken for sweets. We did our annual hair dying last night/this morning and most of the girls have different hair colors (except Lizzy's, who's stayed the same..)

The baby Crawleys from Michigan and New York are a stich and really enjoy the time with their cousins. Kiera doesn't know anyone's names except Emmett and Sam.

We're missing you guys like crazy! We also got you a suprise that will make you smile!

Love always!

Wow, a Tiger Lily dedicated to me on my birthday! That's pretty special. Thank you!

One of the things that amazed me when I moved out here was that we have so many of the very same flowers you do in Iowa. Of course, there are dozens and dozens more that I'm slowly learning the names of as time passes.

Your flower photos are just beautiful. I'm also impressed with the bright orange among the texture and color of the blue spruce. Excellent!

Hey, Lauren! Greetings from the satellite CFV!!

We wondered if we'd be hearing from the kinfolk and are delighted that you were able to find connectivity.

Please tell Doc and Olive that we got the shirts and are working on getting our photo taken. Where should be email the photo??

...and, did he finally run out of 'e' words??? Is there a story behind this year's word? ...the movie, 'The Incredibles'??

We're missing you, too! We talk each day about what we'd be doing if we were there. It will be interesting to see if you were doing any of the same things on the same days. *grins*

The Chocolate Chicken...hrm... You know that makes my sweet tooth kind of cringe *shudders*

Hopefully someone got photos of the dye jobs?? What colors were available this year? (I'd have gone deep purple or burgundy...)

Didn't some folks compete in events while you were there? What kinds of things did everyone do?

News of the Sheepshead game is welcomed news, indeed! Have you learned how to play yet? ..better hurry!

Sounds like a terrific time, and I should probably stop so you can go have some more.

Enjoy yourselves!

Glad you found it! *smiles*

With the growing zones changing as they are, it doesn't surprise me that you're seeing Iowa flora there. I note things in NY that we have, too.

Always good to hear from you.

Stay well!

I don't think I can pick one favorite. I especially like the Bela and Oregon Connie's tiger lily, along with the Asian Hybrid group. I also like the textural and color mix of the tiger lilies and blue spruces.

There are new pictures of the ducklings up at Nancyturtle's Notes for your viewing pleasure...

Thanks for the new photos, NancyTurtle. Sounds like you need a webcam to keep up with how quickly they grow!

So, which of the TigerLily/Spruce photos should we prep for sale?? We could certainly do two if that make's the deciding easier.

Make a great weekend!!!

Funny you should mention that- I just finished editing the video I shot today while the ducks were out and about. I was about to email Kevin to ask how to post a video clip???

Since I have to pick one, I'd say Oregon Connie's is the most dramatic, which probably makes it the most "sellable". My two other favorites for selling are the Asian Hybrid (for the color contrast of orange and green) and the yellow orange echinaecea which seem to be dancing in the driveway. (OK, they're not lilies, but I like the picture!)
