We're home. Diana is sore and groggy, and they gave us stronger painkillers this time.
On a better note, Nancy says it was her understanding that they were going to try to remove the whole tumor from the right lung. If that was successful, it's possible that we're still in the trial.
From what I understand, they'll compare this tumor to the biopsies from the other tumor and the lymph node. If they are all the same, I think that means metastasis, and we go back to the drawing board for another plan of attack. If it was a separate and now-removed tumor, I believe we can ignore it and go back to treating the first tumor.
So hopefully, we'll know more on Monday.

I've been checking the Blog daily, sometimes several times a day, but never posted because every time I write something, it sounds like a frigging sympathy card and I delete it in disgust.

Patrick and Kerry, thanks for posting; it's difficult for us to post, as well, without it reading like a pity party. And, hey, there's a market for Sympathy Card writers, ya know? *thwaps self* We love you; hug those two little ones for us.
Sara, we can use all the help we can get with making things nutritional, flavorful and juicy. We can send you copies of the brochures we've found here or I would imagine there are also suggestions online for both what I'm dealing with following the surgery (a smoothie was too thick to drink), as well as what we're expecting with the chemotherapy and radiation, if I'm still eligible for that... Kevin has been doing a great job getting food into me so far, but we know we have a lot to learn and six months of no appetite will be a looooong time.
