Good News!
MRI today. We were both pretty nervous, because the right-side weirdness dp has been feeling could be indicative of another brain tumor. The scan shows perfectly clean though -- no sign of the original tumor coming back, nor of any other tumors starting. We'll do another MRI in three months, but Dr S was very happy.
Still, there's the right-side weirdness, and dp's been feeling more nausea for the last week or so. Metaclopromide fixes it pretty quickly, and she's doing more and sleeping less. Dr. S the radiologist wants to go from 2 mg a day to 1 mg, but we'll run that by Dr. C before we do it.
In other news, my Aunt Mary was buried today in Wisconsin. She found out that she had leukemia on Friday and she died of it on Saturday. I didn't know it could work that way.
We got about 10 inches of snow Tuesday/Wednesday. It's getting old, not to mention expensive to keep plowing, but gosh, it was beautiful.
dp asked me to say three things:
Nancy, the gloves got here.
Clan C, the tulips got here.
Mom and Dad, the low-fat divinity got here.

Yeah!!! Take a deep breath and have a nice relaxing weekend, inside, looking at the pretty snow. I agree though, it is getting old. I told Andrew, who spent the last weekend in the Canary Islands, about it, and he said, "sucks to be you." Yes he's having a great time. The Pat Curtin family is thinking of you and cheering you on dp. xxoo Katie
Great news! A clean MRI is a beautiful thing.
Kevin and the Clan, I'm sorry to hear about your Aunt Mary. I know there are many types of leukemia and I would guess that she had it for a while without being diagnosed. We have similar news here. Our neighbor who runs a dog rescue sanctuary was diagnosed on Jan 2 with cancer and died on Wednesday. I don't know what kind of cancer and I suspect that he ignored symptoms for some time. His wife plans to continue running the sanctuary on her own. I suspect we may be spending some time up there in the future helping her out.
Stay warm and dry and enjoy the weekend! We are expecting warmer weather and plan to go biking with the birds tomorrow if Donnamarie gets over her flu in time.
It was a nice funeral as they go Los of relatives and friends from 3 generations Nancy, it was indeed a missed diagnosis. Mary had been seing Drs was being traeted for polymyalgia At Christmas time she showed Molly, nurse, daughter red spots on her ankles,Molly was suspicous then told her mom toshow ti todr. She did to 3 different ones, all said It's nothing to worry about. Her ddr. commented towaed the end that it was indeed something to worry about. The family seems to have no bitterness. Molly is confidient her mom would have declined chemo, Molly's concern is that she woud hate to have this happen to a 35 yr old instead of 75, so she says she will probably write some letters. Mary was at peace, lucid to the end ,and said she was ready to go. We are concerned about Pat who is after all 81 years old though he is fit and trim and looks younger. The day was filled with love and hugs and I for 1 went away with warm feelings toward extended family as I always havw for immediate famiily Kevin and dp- be assured f our continued prayers and best wishes
