Diablogging
...is the best thing I can call it.
I'm not sure that we, as the originators of "the sCenario," are supposed to respond to comments. Blogs that we read are pretty much a one-way communication; someone posts information and others respond to that post.
"the sCenario" began so that we could most efficiently share information, and it's evolved into an information center beyond the two of us. It's delightful to read the comments. Although I must admit I've never been sure just where to respond, it's been fun responding to them, as well. We're also amazed at just who has been checking in here.
In reading back, I've posted comments that were longer than the blog posts. Should those have been posted elsewhere? Or, is that the proper place to respond? Seemed that a reference to a comment might be obscure in a new blog post, particularly if one doesn't read the comments. Then again, it might be a way to highlight a comment that someone else might have missed?
While this blog isn't in the public list of blog links, the readership is growing. And, we encourage you to share this space with anyone you feel would be appropriate. I've been asked if I'd consider making it public and am disinclined to do so at this time.
If you've been reading the comments, you know that we have a number of literate, not to mention entertaining, friends. This has become a place where we've been able to get information in addition to sharing it. A place where our friends and family are able to meet and exchange. A place where we can dust off those writing skills under the guise of staying in touch. A place where we can touch base with the normalcy in our worlds.

Function, huh? Figures you'd be analyzing that.
My two cents: I like getting the latest information without intruding on what might be an afternoon without medical thoughts. I check in almost daily these days. I am gratified that so many people care about you two and each other and that there is community around this "adventure."
Having never really blogged, I'm just responding. I've occasionally wondered if I'm being too "flip," but in my family, probably the Irish part, we sneer and joke in the face of adversity. A knock-knock version of whistling in the dark, perhaps. I appreciate the acceptance of this.
In my work, I think a lot about the meaning of struggle. It is a given that we struggle. The question is always: do we struggle in a direction that we believe in? Is our struggle in line with what we believe, whom we love, what gives our lives meaning? My Dad was a mess, but he wrote every day. When his body failed him, my mother wrote with him, picking out letters on the message board and keying them into the computer one by one.
Push on, brothers and sisters. Love, S.

S, I've missed your writing. And, as a long-time friend has always said, "thanks for being you." *heh*
The meaning of struggle...some nice thoughts; something I'll ponder a bit more.
I have a knock-knock joke. You start...
I think that this blog is excellent- I love being able to communicate with you and Kevin with ease :)
As far as comments vs. blog posts are concerned, I say don't worry a thing about it. It's always a special feeling to see a comment reply just for you :)
Much love always!
daNiece Lauren!
It's an equally good feeling to find you here! *hugs*
And, while I have your attention, might you know what happened to the book lights you, Robin and Elizabeth took for the ride home from Uncle Shorty's Memorial Gathering? I still have the transformer for the yellow one... *shrugs* Great if you do, no biggie if you don't. ...I'm not wanting to wake Kevin when I read in the middle of the night, which is happening all too frequently for me lately *sighs* Thanks for checking.
How are rehearsals? Have the auditions happened yet? When is the workshop week at The Purple Rose? Still seeing Caleb?
Any special plans for DougFather's Day next weekend?
Thanks, again, for checking in.
Make a great rest of the weekend!
-Diana
